Glossary & Parameter Guide

Discipline Codes (DISC)

Classifies the primary trade or department executing the task.

  • ARC: Architecture - Architectural BIM/modeling
  • STR: Structural - Structural BIM/modeling
  • MEC: Mechanical/HVAC - HVAC and mechanical
  • PLB: Plumbing - Plumbing systems
  • FIR: Fire Protection - Fire protection systems
  • ELE: Electrical - Electrical and ELV
  • BIM: BIM Coordination - Federation, clash, coordination, setup
  • INT: Interior - Interior BIM
  • LSE: Landscape - External/internal landscape
  • INF: Infrastructure - Site, roads, utilities
  • DEV: Development - Plugins, automation, software
  • MGT: Management - Project management
  • VAL: Value Add - 4D, 5D, XR, COBie, etc.
Level of Development (LOD)

Defines the geometric and informational maturity of the model.

  • L000: Not Applicable - Non-modeling / management / fixed tasks
  • L100: Conceptual Design - Conceptual model
  • L200: Schematic Design - Approximate geometry
  • L300: Detailed Design - Precise geometry
  • L350: Construction Documentation - Interfaces/coordination
  • L400: Fabrication & Assembly - Fabrication/shop level
  • L500: As-Built / Record Model - Field-verified record model
Complexity Multiplier

Categorizes the density of the work. Note: Defaults are starting recommendations; validate them using historical actuals.

  • LOW: Low - Simple/repetitive/minimal coordination
  • MED: Medium - Normal project density
  • HIGH: High - Dense/complex/coordination-heavy
  • EXT: Extreme - Specialized/extreme complexity
Area & Linear Footprints
  • Area Format: Actual numeric area in square metres (nearest whole m²). No "K" suffix and no unit text.
  • Non-Area Tasks: If a task has no area, leave the field blank. The generator will output NA for AREA_M2.
  • Linear Tasks: The syntax is currently area-standardized. Retain LINEAR as a basis flag and track RMT separately until a quantity field is added.
  • Analytics Logic: Actual Hours ÷ Area(m²), plus Actual Hours ÷ (Area/1000).
Task Type Classifications

Classifies the specific action being performed. Always select from the predefined Task Master; do not freely invent variants.

  • MOD: Modeling - Model creation/modification
  • ANN: Annotation - Tags, dimensions, notes
  • DRW: Drawing Production - Plans, sections, elevations, sheets
  • DET: Detailing - Construction details
  • SHP: Shop/Fabrication - Shop drawings/fabrication
  • COO: Coordination - General coordination
  • CLH: Clash Detection - Clash detection/resolution
  • REV: Review - Model/drawing review
  • QCR: Quality Control - QA/QC
  • BOQ: Quantity Takeoff - BOQ/QTO
  • DOC: Documentation - BEP/specifications/reports
  • SET: Setup - Project/template/platform setup
  • EXP: Export - Model/data export
  • IMP: Import - Model/data import
  • DEV: Development - Software/plugin development
  • TST: Testing - Automation/software testing
  • FIX: Troubleshooting - Technical fixes
  • MTG: Meeting - Meetings
  • MGT: Management - Management
  • TRN: Training - Training
  • ADM: Administration - ACC/BIM administration
  • AST: Asset / COBie - Asset information/as-built data
  • SUR: Survey - Survey/LiDAR work
  • VIS: Visualization - Visualization/XR
  • VAL: Value Add - 4D/5D/value-added services
General Naming Rules
  • Custom Detail: Use the Custom Detail field for specific identifiers (e.g., "Zone B"). This guarantees you won't exceed Planner's 255-character limit.
  • Project Name: Keep the project name in Planner/project metadata, not in the task name.
  • Packages: Keep commercial package codes separate from atomic time-tracking tasks.
  • Task ID: Stable internal identifier mapped to the standard task.
